Oral Surgery Services

At NVDIC we offer a variety of oral surgery procedures that may be required for your optimal treatment including, flap surgeries, regenerative procedures, crown lengthening, dental implants, bone grafts and teeth extractions (including wisdom teeth).

  • What Is Periodontal Disease? Any condition affecting the health of gums around your teeth can be classified as a periodontal disease or condition.

  • Gum Graft: If you require a gum graft, your doctor will likely use your own donor tissue to generate gum tissue where required. Normally, the donor graft is taken from the hard palate. These and other various gum procedures help alleviate various issues associated with gum recession, such as teeth sensitivity and bone loss and eventual tooth loss. Gum grafting can protect teeth and their roots from decay and create a more even gumline.

  • Crown Lengthening: A crown lengthening procedure involves reshaping gum tissue, bone, or both to expose more of a tooth. Crown lengthening is a common procedure for patients with a “gummy smile,” where excessive gum tissue around upper teeth makes teeth appear short. This treatment is also for patients who need to fix a tooth that broke off at or below the gumline, or to replace a filling or a crown that fell out. Crown lengthening exposes more of the tooth surface and allows your dentist to remove the tooth decay underneath or to place a crown.

  • Dental Implants: Dental implants are installed to replace teeth lost due to a disease or accident. Dental implants can replace a single tooth or several teeth or to support other dental fixtures. They secure dentures and bridges in place and prevent them from shifting in your mouth, even when eating or talking. With dental implants, your dentures can feel more natural and comfortable compared to traditional ones, which often cause sore spots or have poor ridges. With implants, no adjacent teeth need to be ground down to hold artificial teeth in place.

  • Teeth Extraction: Extracting natural teeth may be the only treatment option for some cases. Where a tooth has decayed beyond repair or has become a cause of chronic pain and infection, removing it may be the only viable option. At NVDIC we can accommodate patients who require simple or complex teeth to be extracted. This includes removal of wisdom teeth and others for orthodontic purposes or to prevent damage to adjacent teeth as well.

  • Guided Implant Surgery: Guided implant surgery stands out for its remarkable precision, reduced chair time and near painless recovery. It begins with a comprehensive planning process using a cutting-edge technology and AI tools. After meticulous planning, a surgical guide is used to ensure that the implants are placed with extreme precision, at the right locations, depths, and angles. This precision often results in a faster recovery and may even eliminate the need for sutures after surgery.

Why You Should Visit Your North Vancouver Dentist Regularly

Nobody likes visiting the dentist. But coming in for regular cleanings and check-ups is much, much more pleasurable than coming in to fix the damage done from skipping appointments or failing to take care of your teeth at home.

Come in for cleaning every six months to keep your teeth strong, to maintain a beautiful smile, to prevent gum disease and to fight bad breath.

Regular visits to your dentist will save you money and cause you less pain and discomfort than fixing the problems caused by avoiding regular cleanings and check-ups.
